OUR PASTOR
|
Pastor Joe really enjoys preaching and teaching the Bible to all ages, whether on Sunday mornings in Adult Bible Study followed by preaching in the worship service, on Wednesday afternoons with elementary students at Pioneer Club, or with middle school students in Confirmation class. The Word of God is alive and active, and that’s the focus of ministry at Dell. Spending time in the Bible is the best way to get to know Jesus up close and personal!
Pastor Joe is also involved in unique ministries at Dell and in the community at large. Dell offers Two Hours to Freedom ministry sessions which is a focused prayer ministry that goes from conception through the life of the recipient to bring freedom and healing in Christ Jesus for life’s hurts and challenges. Pastor Joe has trained some Dellites in this ministry, and he leads a team himself, so that Dell has two teams readily available to help believers in need of freedom from anger, fear, depression, guilt, shame, etc.. “PJ”, as many youth call him, also enjoys mentoring and supporting Dell’s Youth Ministry and its Youth Director, Chris Parker, with weekly meetings for prayer, sharing and encouragement. Other ministries Pastor Joe enjoys in the community include: leading Bible study in the Faribault County Jail, Secretary for the Blue Earth Area Ministerial Association, and joining in “Pastor’s Prayer" meetings. In a much larger “community”, Pastor Joe serves as Chairman on the Association of Free Lutheran Congregation’s "Bay Broadcasting Company" Board of Directors which oversees the christian radio ministry of KAKN Radio in Naknek, Alaska. Pastor Joe is a member of the AFLC's Home Mission Corporation which works to establish new free and living AFLC congregations in the United States. He also serves as Treasurer on the Lutheran Mission Society’s Alaska Mission Board of Directors. You can tell he loves reaching people for Jesus! |
